Day 1: Puno – Ouros – Amantani
At 7:45 a.m., after picking you up from your hotel, we’ll go to the harbor of Puno on Lake Titicaca. From there, after a 25-minute boat ride, we’ll arrive at the floating islands of the Ouros people, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour lasting approximately an hour and a half, with an optional trip in the Ouros’ famous reed rafts. We’ll then have lunch in a native restaurant in the area and continue on in the same high-speed boat to the island of Amantani, where we’ll receive a warm welcome from the island’s families. These families will get us set up in their houses, after which we’ll have lunch and then walk to the ritual center of Pachatata, where we’ll be able to see the sunset and enjoy the island’s spectacular landscape. That evening, after dinner, we’ll join the inhabitants in a small community meeting, where they’ll share their culture and traditional dances with us.
Day 2: Taquile – Puno
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll say good-bye to our local host families and set out for Taquile. The trip will last approximately one hour. There we’ll see the island and have lunch, and afterwards return to Puno.
