Leave: 9:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m.
Time for sightseeing: approximately 3 hours
At 8:45 a.m., after picking you up from your hotel, we’ll go to the harbor of Puno on Lake Titicaca. From there, after a 25-minute boat ride, we’ll arrive at the legendary floating islands of the Ouros people, located some 6 km. from the port of Lacustre. The Ouros are an ancient tribal community made up of more than 40 islands built from reeds by the inhabitants themselves. These same reeds are also used to build houses and rafts, as well as to provide fuel and food for the island population. During this trip, we’ll visit 2 or 3 islands and spend 30 minutes on each one; we’ll also allow visitors the option of taking a boat ride in the reed boats characteristic of the Ouros people. We’ll arrive back in Puno around 12:30 p.m.
